Copyright and Takedown Policy
Last updated: 18.03.2026
1. Introduction
SciFork SARL ("SciFork," "we," or "our") respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the SciFork Insight platform (the "Service") to do the same. We comply with applicable copyright laws, including the Swiss Federal Act on Copyright and Related Rights (CopA) and international safe harbor principles.
2. Prohibition of Copyright Infringement
As stated in our Acceptable Use Policy, users are strictly prohibited from uploading, indexing, or sharing documents (such as PDFs, books, or research papers) for which they do not own the copyright or have explicit permission from the copyright holder. Any violation of this policy constitutes a material breach of our Terms of Service and may result in immediate account limitation or termination.
3. Submitting a Copyright Infringement Notice
If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent thereof, and you believe that any content hosted on the Service infringes your copyrights, you may submit a takedown notification by providing our Legal Department with the following information in writing:
- A physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (e.g., a link to the original work or a detailed description).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing or to be the subject of infringing activity, and information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material on our systems (e.g., the specific URL or user context).
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you, such as an address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statutory declaration, made in good faith, that the information in the notification is accurate and complete, and that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the allegedly infringed right.
Notices of claimed infringement should be emailed to our dedicated copyright team at: copyright@scifork.com Or mailed via physical post to:
SciFork SARL
Attn: Legal Department / Copyright Claims

4. Takedown Procedure and Timeframes
Upon receipt of an infringement notice, SciFork SARL will acknowledge receipt within two (2) business days. If the notice is valid and complete, we will take reasonable steps to promptly remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material within ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days. We will also make a good-faith effort to notify the user who uploaded the content so they may submit a Counter-Notice if they believe the removal was in error. Incomplete notices will be returned with a request for the missing information and will not trigger the response timeframe.
Abuse of Process: SciFork reserves the right to reject notices that are clearly filed in bad faith. Submitting a knowingly false infringement notice may expose the complainant to legal liability.
5. Counter-Notice and Reinstatement
If a user believes their content was removed by mistake or misidentification, they may send a Counter-Notice to copyright@scifork.com containing their physical/electronic signature, identification of the removed material, a statement made in good faith that the removal was a mistake, and their contact information. Upon receipt of a valid Counter-Notice, SciFork will promptly forward it to the original complainant. If the original complainant does not notify us within ten (10) to fourteen (14) business days that they have filed a legal action seeking a court order to restrain the user, SciFork will generally reinstate the removed material, unless there are reasonable legal or operational grounds not to do so. SciFork SARL bears no liability for any loss of access, data, loss of profits, or business interruption experienced by the user during the takedown, review, and reinstatement period, in accordance with the Limitation of Liability set forth in our Terms of Service.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with applicable law, SciFork SARL has adopted a policy of terminating, in appropriate circumstances and at our sole discretion, users who are deemed to be repeat infringers. We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to the Service and/or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.
7. AI-Generated Outputs
SciFork makes no representations or warranties regarding the copyright status of AI-generated outputs produced by the Service. Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use, reproduction, or distribution of AI-generated responses does not infringe upon the copyrights of third parties whose works may have been referenced or summarized. For broader limitations of liability regarding AI-generated content, please see Section 3 of our Terms of Service.
